Cinnamon Fern is another treasure from the American Woodland. Tall fronds with striking "cinnamon stick" spores.

Cinnamon fern is one of the grand native plants of the American woodland. Rising from the forest floor, and quite common over most of North America, these large ferns carpet whole areas in shade, creating the green forest glens everyone loves.

For the home garden, Cinnamon Fern is wonderful for accents in the garden, and shady moist spots in any wildflower garden or meadow. They do not spread rapidly, and are quite easy to control.

The common name, "Cinnamon" comes from the elegant torch-like spore cases which rise in the midst of clumps, clothed in cinnamon-colored material which creates dramatic botanical contrast against the deep green fronds.
