Shipping Schedule for Fall Bulbs and Plants |
| IMPORTANT: When you order Fall Bulbs, your order may require more than one Shipping Date, which is at no extra charge. See Below: |
| All orders for Bearded Iris: We sell Bearded Irises at two times of year--as potted plants with our perennials in spring, and also bareroot later in the year, shipping alone in late summer. If you order these bareroot selections, they will ship separately during August when they arrive from our US growers, and should be planted as soon as they arrive. Other fall bulbs ordered will arrive later. |
All orders with Lilies or Amaryllis: If your fall bulb order includes these, which arrive from Holland in October, your entire fall bulb order (except Irises which will come in August) will ship in October.
All fall orders for Shrubs and Perennials: These ship separately from our bulbs, but the extra shipment does not add additional cost. The shrub/perennial shipping schedule is roughly the same as the fall bulb shipping schedule below. |
|
Main Shipping Times for most Fall Bulbs and Plants |
| Coldest Areas ship first half of September. Includes USDA Zones 1 through parts of Zone 5. |
| Medium Areas ship second half of September. Includes USDA Zones 5 and 6. |
| Warmest Areas ship during October. Includes USDA Zones 7 and higher. |
| NOTE: These dates apply to all Tulips, Daffodils, etc.---all bulb orders that do not include Lilies or Amaryllis.. The bulk of our fall bulbs arrive from Holland around September 1, so shipping begins then, coldest areas first. Our fall bulb shipping continues to all states through the holidays as bulb stocks last. |
Holiday Shipments: We ship Amaryllis, Gift Certificates, and other holiday items right up into the week before Christmas. Amaryllis and any other fall bulbs still in stock are also available after the holidays at clearance prices.

You may purchase Gift Certificates in any amount of cash. If you need help, just call.
- Gifts of Advance Sale Bulbs and Perennials: You may choose an Advance Sale gift for the recipient--and receive great sale prices in our advance sales of spring bulbs and perennials. Info for Alaska, Hawaii, Canada & other countries:
We're sorry, we cannot ship any of our products beyond the US and Canada. While we are anxious to extend our high standards of customer service and quality products to our friends worldwide, individual country regulations and long transit times to many areas have made it impossible.
Live Plants and Bulbs cannot be shipped outside the US. The United States Department of Agriculture simply does not allow us to ship any live plants or bulbs to any foreign country including Canada. (For Alaska and Hawaii, see below.)
Info for Orders from Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada: If you are ordering from Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada, please check the individual instructions below.
Wildflower Seeds may be shipped to Canada. We have shipped wildflower seeds to our gardening friends in Canada for over 20 years. And even though we are located near the border, the US and Canadian requirements for shipping gardening products can be complicated. For example Agriculture Canada does not allow certain wildflower seeds to cross the border, and the list includes common US favorites such as Chicory and Daisy. We can give you full information on prohibited species.
So, we ask that you help us help you by sending an email in advance to Customer Service so we may communicate the requirements for shipping your order. (For example, seed orders going to Canada must be examined by the US Dept. of Agriculture and receive a special certificate. This takes some time, and there is also a charge.)
Plants, Bulbs and Seeds may be shipped to Alaska and Hawaii. However, please see individual instructions below.
Alaska: Even though regular US postage is approximately the same to Alaska, USPS is often too slow for our shipments, and other carriers often have additional charges. There are also weather considerations at certain times of the year, due to possible freezing of live products in transit. Please email Customer Service in advance and we will inform you of our shipping options.
Hawaii: We’ve found the distance and time required for shipments to Hawaii make sending live plants difficult, but we will try our best to help you. Please email Customer Service in advance and we will inform you of our shipping options.
