Not only the famous cornflower blue, but also pinks, whites, wines, and other shades are common with this cultivar, commonly used in wildflower meadows. Also see basic species, C. cyanus (blue).

Botanical Name : Centaurea cyanus (multi)
Common Name : Cornflower/Bachelor's Button (multi)
Type : Annual. Lives just one year. Grows quickly, blooms heavily, dies with first frost. Can regrow following spring if seed falls on bare ground.
Color : Cultival colors of maroon, pink, white, all fromthe original cornflower blue, one of the truest blues in the flower kingdom.
Height : Up to 1 1/2 ft.
Bloom Time : Early, mid, and late season
Flower : Fluffy button-like flower
Sun/Shade : Full sun to light shade.
Soil Preferences : Adaptable
