Athyrium asplenioides
Many consider this the most beautiful fern. Fronds are somewhat "frilly" in lighter green.
Click for more details on this product.
Perhaps the most purely decorative native fern for woodland gardens, the Lady Fern has many variations, often dependent on soil and siting. The lacy, lighter-green fronds can rise from 16 to 36", depending on the plant's environment. But at any size, from early fiddleheads, the fronds always take on their very delicate, complex "frilly" look, often with finely cut "sub-leaflets", creating this fern's unique look. Lady Fern is hardy and native from Canada to the Gulf Coast. It occurs naturally in well-drained moist woods and along streambanks in any rich woodsy soil.
