Description
Here's a great new mixture that will bring you a real rainbow of daffodil types. They're all tall, full-size daffodils in a range of full-pink trumpets, pink ring styles, and more. In bloom, it's like a pink and white cloud hovering over your garden. Great for naturalizing, since the subtle differences create a natural 'assortment' of lush color.

Naturalizing Daffodils. Probably nothing in the gardening world is more foolproof and more rewarding than 'naturalizing' daffodils. Because unlike most other garden flowers, these fantastic plants are super-easy to plant in fall, they don't care about soil, as long as it's well-drained, and they'll bloom beautifully for you with absolutely no work every spring after you plant them. Best of all, daffodils increase over the years, each bulb developing into a blooming clump. All you have to do is pick the spots. The one thing to remember is that you won't be able to mow that area until the tops die down. Everything else takes care of itself. In a new or established wildflower meadow, the wildflower plants grow up around the daffodils hiding the fading foliage, so there's no work to do. And if you're planting wildflower seed, what could be easier that to pop in the bulbs when you have the ground already turned?

I was almost dissapointed seeing as they came up almost 2 weeks after my other daffodils died down, and I thought they'd just be duds, and then low and behold! A bright pink double Dafodil! I used them in a mixed dafodil bed so they added some late spring color. In fact a few were still blooming past easter. I cut some and brought them as a bouquet to a friend in the hostpital and all the nurses oohed and awwed over the color and how large they were. Not to mention they smell great! All of them bloomed, but, not all at once, sadly.

Comments about Large Cupped Daffodil Bulbs Mixed Pink:

Bulbs always arrive fresh, plump and ready to burst with color. I can't wait to see these PINK daffodils, large sizes too. I order often and always find several perennials that I must add to my raised lava rock beds. I had 6 yards of organic soil delivered, filled the beds up with soil and now filling them with glorious color and fragrance and beauty.....and they ship to Hawaii, where EVERYTHING thrives. Thank you all sooooooo much. ALOHA from Hawaii

Color definitely not quite pink, more of a peach. Still nice, and an interesting contrast to the classic yellow and yellow/white daffodils.

I purchased these twice with the hope that I would see pretty pink daffodils in my yard. They didn't grow either time. Zone 7. I usually have good luck with American Meadows products.

I order 40 bulbs...planted 25 of them in my flower beds and gave the rest as a gift. I was really excited when they started to come up the following spring only to be horribly disappointed when NONE of them were pink. Every last one of them turned out to be a light yellow color. Yes, all of them bloomed and were healthy. However, none of them were pink as I expected. If you are looking for pink then DON'T order these.

They did bloom and lasted a long time. just do not expect any pink. I had fully yellow blooms with orange and then white blooms with a salmon trumpet that faded to a shade of yellow. They were planted in a well draining flower bed that gets almost a full day of sun.

I was beginning to think these bulbs weren't going to come up but all of a sudden they did. I guess I planted a bit later than I should have because previous bulbs purchased were already about to bloom. The main thing I'm unhappy about is the fact they were to be a "pink mix" and when they finally bloomed, they were ALL a very pale, almost non-existence pink color, no other variants of pink. Some were even close to yellow. I do love this company because they do stand behind their products without question, but would NOT recommend this pink mix bulb.

I planted the bulbs as recommended mixed with tulips. I was very sad that only a few of the bulbs I planted came up. And it was just a regular old yellow tulip. There was nothing pink about it. I am holding out hope that the daffodils I planted are only slow growers and will pop up eventually. I would not recommend these.

All bulbs germianted. Very healthy plants with flowers that last a long time. Some flowers appear to me more orange than pink. I hope next year there will be all pink and not all orange. Over all, I wasnt dissappointed

I gave them to my 2 daughters for their new homes. One lives in GA and one inPA. Both were very happy. Daffodils are easy to plant and they usually come up with no problem in the spring and animals don't bother them. They also loved the colors

If you are looking for pink daffodils, don't buy this mix. Yes, there's a variety. Yes, they bloom well. But no, they are not pink. The picture they show on the site is not at all what yours will look like. Same varieties, but more like orange/peach. I was very disappointed. [...]

These weren't as pink as I expected. They look almost orange when they first open, but then fade to a pinkish-peach after a while. They are still pretty and unique, but don't expect true pink flowers.

I planted over 40 of these last fall. They came up in droves this spring. Lots of blooms... unfortunately they just look white with a faint, faint pink in the middle. From the road they are just a white planting. I was disappointed because the pictures gave the impression of several different shades of pink in stronger hues. I am hopping in next year's blooms there will be more variety in this variety mix! The flowers are large and impressive and work great if you want white, I just wanted pink.

What is a "Quality Bulb," and Why Does Bulb Quality Matter?

Flower bulbs come in a wide variety of sizes. It is important to get the largest, best quality bulbs you can find. Larger bulbs help to ensure success, producing larger and stronger plants with more flowers.

Several flower bulbs are part of the onion family, and because of this I like to use Onions as a representation of how important bulb size is. Which of the onions on your shelf go bad first? The smallest ones! Larger onions are more resilient, taking longer to dry out/rot and can withstand swings in temperature better. Flower bulbs are the same. Larger bulbs will withstand disease, draught, large amounts of moisture, and colder temperatures significantly better than the smaller ones.

Here at American Meadows we are committed to providing you with the highest quality bulbs. This means we do everything we can to source the largest bulbs possible. Below is a comparison of bulbs purchased from three different retail stores:

Each of the glass tubes contains 20 Dutch Master Daffodils. Starting from the left, the first tube is what is sold here at American Meadows, the middle tube was purchased at a local “Home Supply” box store, and the third is another online retailer. The difference is easily noticeable.

The next picture is the same comparison, but with Tulip Bulbs:

Again, our bulbs are quite a bit larger than other retailers.

Other things to be aware of when it comes to bulb quality is making sure they are firm and without signs of external damage or cracking. Do your best to avoid bulbs that are already growing and have shoots or freshly grown roots. This is difficult when purchasing online, but if you are ordering through a reputable company, they should be checking for these things regularly.

Next time you are looking to buy bulbs, think about how much time you put into planning and planting your garden and then anxiously waiting for your flowers to grow and bloom. Don’t be disappointed after all that effort by planting sub-par bulbs. Buy the largest, firmest, disease free bulbs you can afford, and you will have the best possible results.
