Comments about American Meadows Elephant Ear Sangria:

I potted this and placed it in a wildlife pond. It added color before the other plants bloomed and is still very attractive. The color adds novelty.

Comments about American Meadows Elephant Ear Sangria:

I've never ordered live plants from a nursery before, but I suppose my expectations were a little more. The plant looks like it was retrieved from the 1/2 off shelf at some garden center. One leaf is nearly dead. It didn't seem like this little guy got too much light, fertilizer, or water.
With it being an elephant ear plant I assumed it would have a large nodule root system, but this had only roots. I did throw in some bone meal before planting.

                  USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

                  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
                  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
