Description
Make up your own mix, or plant a huge drift of yellow. Yellow Mammouth never disappoints, and is a knock-out against early springs deep green lawns. Yellow Mammouth is the largest crocus of them all, with blooms sometimes as wide as 4 inches, and it's a classic. It's been cultivated in gardens since the seventeenth century!

Planting in the lawn is simple, since the bulbs are so small, and the effect in spring is a real treat. The more you plant, the better it will look. One caveat: If you plant in the lawn, wait 6 weeks after flowers bloom to mow.

Comments about American Meadows Dutch Crocus Yellow Mammouth - Bag of 20:

Our spring is slow to start each year in zone 5a, so imagine my surprise when 1 week ago there was no sign of my crocus, and this week they suddenly appear! I was a little kid seeing beautiful flowers for the first time. Winter is just too long for me.

I love crocuses...they are always the first to pop up when Spring is near! I planted about 4 separate groups with around 5 bulbs each in my front yard perennial garden bed right at the border. ! actually think there were more than 20 bulbs which was a nice bonus! The colors were beautiful and they lasted for quite some time. These were up in early February since we had such a mild winter here.

I planted a bunch of these under my forsythia last fall and the order arrived quickly and all the bulbs were large and healthy. They are just now emerging (March in Iowa) and it looks like their bloom time will coincide with the forsythia, as I had hoped. I can hardly wait to see how it looks! The species crocus are already blooming. I fully intend to plant hundreds more all over the lawn this next fall, they are such a mood-lifter after all the dull gray of late winter!!!!
