Here's a favorite from your grandmother's garden. Four O'Clocks are world famous, and sometimes called the 'Marvel of Peru'. They are native in Peru, and the 'Marvel' part is because these short, bushy plants open lovely tubular flowers in several colors--the same plant may have two or three colors in bloom at any given time. These fascinating flowers can be grown from seed, but with our bulbs (which form in time when you plant the seed), they grow much more quickly, giving you months more of the flowers. Simply lift the bulbs in fall like dahlias, and replant for more flowers the next spring.

Comments about American Meadows Four O'Clocks:

These popped fast and were HUGE! I actually had to move them to the back of my flower bed because you couldn't see anything else. They handled the transplanting very well. Had to use plant rings to keep them from falling over. GORGEOUS!

Comments about American Meadows Four O'Clocks:

I purchase these every year, since unfortunately, they're not perennials in my area. Furthermore, I give them to friends and family for a reliable, attractive, bushy plant. They do reseed themselves, but I find the way I purchase them works best of all.

These bloom in the afternoon and evening, as described. 3 out of 5 bulbs came up this year, but only colors were yellow and white. Was hoping to see pink or red as well.

Comments about American Meadows Four O'Clocks:

I wanted some new colors of 4 O'Clocks, and this product really delivered! Large healthy tubers in this wonderful collection produced some solids with an overlay of color giving a fluorescent look to it, as well as plants that have mixed colors on each individual flower.

After planting, they emerged from the ground almost overnight and quickly turned into a small shrubs literally covered in flowers. So far this is my favorite purchase from American Meadows.

Most companies only sell seeds for this variety- yours had the BIG tubers which make for a larger faster growing plant-- They are still blooming into early October-- we plan to dig them up and store them for Winter in the cellar-- they were bushy and healthy- I am so glad I found your company . This was a gift for my husband who grows a scented evening-blooming garden with many varieties that we can enjoy on hot Summer nights-- these performed WAAAY beyond our expectations !! Thank you so much ! I look forward to see what you have for next year !

Comments about American Meadows Four O'Clocks:

I use these plants to 'hold space' between mum plantings in a border. They provide non-stop color until frost when the chrysanthemums provide color. Four o'Clocks will reseed themselves. Unfortunately in my climate (zone 3) they are not a perennial.
Next year I will expand their use to an area that has in the past grown terrific weeds. The four o'clocks will provide an excellent alternative if I'm careful about clearing the weeds. I love these plants for their beauty and ease.

Bloomed within a few months of planting. Grew so tall I had to stake it! I haven't seen different bloom colors on the same plant, but the magenta, pink and yellow blooms on the individual plants are beautiful

                        USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

                        • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
                        • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
