Description
These hardy gladiolus are extremely famous; The Nanus Mix is actually a different species from the gladiolus we all know for its height, hardiness, and flower-shape. As for the hardiness, they should be called 'hardier' glads, instead of 'hardy glads', since they are not winter hardy in severe winters. But they can be successfully left in the ground to return the following spring in warmer zones. They're not as showy as tall gladiolus, but definitely worth a try in your garden.

Be sure to plant as many as you can fit, as gladiolus are perfect for cutting and bringing inside for gorgeous bouquets. They're inexpensive and few other flowers give you so much color for the cost. When frost threatens, you can just forget them, and buy new ones in spring, or dig up the bulbs and store them until the following spring. Enjoy Gladiolus this summer – You can never have too many!

Comments about American Meadows Gladiolus Bulbs: Hardy Mix - Bag of 8:

These are beautiful and so elegant. The ones I received were pastel colors. We had an unusually hot summer with many days over 100, and they survived and kept blooming. Because of the heat, they had to be watered fairly often, but in a normal year, I can only imagine how well they would do. I just love them. The bulbs were very healthy and shipped right on time. I have always been so pleased with American Meadows!

The blooms were tired and faded looking, and didn't last very long. They certainly didn't look like the pictures on your web site.

These are so pretty and add such elegant beauty to the yard. We are experiencing an extremely hot summer, so I can only imagine how pretty these would have been had it not been so hot. Even with temperatures over 100 for over a month, they are still blooming. They are delicate, but very hardy. The colors are so pretty from pale yellows to bright pinks. I will definitely order more for next year. I am always pleased with American Meadows products!

I'm glad to find some gladiola bulbs that can be left in the ground over the winter. My autumns are always so hectic, I never find the time to dig up the bulbs and the next spring I'm disappointed when they don't come back. I just hate treating them as annuals.
