Description
This is a magical bulb flower that belongs in every wildflower meadow. These are true wildflowers that are native to Greece, and carpet whole hillsides there in spring. The jewel-tone colors of these cheerful, upward-facing daisies make them unique and a spectacular treat every year in early spring. You can plant them in the lawn, too, like crocus. Be sure to plant a good number, and plant them close together so you'll have the 'drift' effect. They look stunning in tight large groups, and are deer resistant.

Very fun little flowers

Pros

  • Bright colors

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Borders Edges
    • Color spots

I planted these in the lawn under a large tree in amidst my snow crocus to carry color through as the crocus fade and it's worked beautifully. They are bright cheerful little flowers and give a real POP of bright in amidst the new green grass.
I took one star off because I seem to have mostly blue flowers? And also because only about half of what I planted came up. However, the poor growing performance is probably due more to evil moles that have managed to escape the attentions of the neighborhood cats and our heavy clay soil, not the quality of the corms.

I bought two bags a few years ago and they have made a very sweet addition to my garden and patio. I have a number of pots planted with them and I have small patches of them in my garden....little areas of shade where they provide amazing and adorable color. I've bought a few more bags to plant and pot and give as gifts. They are one of the most noticed flower groupings in my garden...I just love them. The instructions were very clear and helpful and made it very easy for me to successfully grow the bulbs.
