Description
Purple Shamrocks are a particularly interesting and beautiful member of the worldwide Oxalis family, which includes all the wood sorrels and lots of clover-leaved plants of all sizes and descriptions. 'Purple Shamrock' begins bloom in early summer and never stops until frost. Its almost black/purple foliage creates a unique and dramatic statement in the garden. Try these beautiful bulbs in the border of your sunny garden or in a container. They are extremely easy to grow; however, bulbs are tender and not winter hardy. If you want them to 'come back' and have heavy winters (receive killing frosts), lift them in fall and store for spring.

    Comments about Purple Shamrock Bulbs:

I love this plant because of the way it actively responds to sunlight, opening and folding its leaves. It reminds me that it is alive! People are always fascinated by it and ask about it and it's not easy to find. Thank you American Meadows!
My only frustration was that not all of the bulbs came up. I'd say about a quarter of them didn't. But this is a particularly beautiful variety with the black on the purple leaves.

        Oxalis triangularis
Two years ago I received a Shamrock plant for St. Patricks Day and I have been hooked ever since. I sent this to my sister as a gift and she was thrilled. Purple is her favorite color! The flowers are so delicate, truly magical!
