Description
Here's a particularly interesting and beautiful member of the worldwide Oxalis family, which includes all the wood sorrels and lots of clover-leaved plants of all sizes and descriptions. This oxalis is native to Mexico, but has been cultivated in Europe since Victorian times. It is particularly handsome, both in flower and foliage, and has lots of common names. 'Iron Cross Oxalis' is one, and 'The Good Luck Plant' is another. Each of this plant's leaves is a perfect four-leaf clover. What's more, the leaves have distinct 'iron cross' markings in the centers, in fact, some hybrids have a clear maroon splotch on each petal, forming a cross. O. Deppei's summer flowers are also edible, often used in salads.

Oxalis deppei is hardy to approximately zone 6, and it makes a great pot plant anywhere. Unlike many of its genus, this Oxalis enjoys full sun. It's slow to come up in the spring after winter, and begins blooming in July.'

Comments about American Meadows Oxalis Deppei Flower Bulbs - Bag of 15:

I got this oxalis to mix with another oxalis and it was great because it is a lot taller. I put several bulbs into pots and gave them as mystery gifts! People were thrilled when a lucky shamrock popped out of the dirt!
Every bulb came up. Very pleased.

Comments about American Meadows Oxalis Deppei Flower Bulbs - Bag of 15:

These bulbs arrived with fresh white roots already growing. They all came up and I have enjoyed them immensely. Years ago I had this Oxalis, but had to give it away since I was going to be on the road for too long. The friend I gave it to promised to give me some bulbs back when I returned, but this never happened. It's good to have this pretty plant back on my patio again. It's September and it's still sending up flowers.

Comments about American Meadows Oxalis Deppei Flower Bulbs - Bag of 15:

I planted this shamrock in a pot that sits on the table on my back deck, and plan to bring it inside for the winter. It was super easy to plant, grew very quickly and has been providing wonder small pink flowers all summer long. Even the folliage is a beautiful bi-color that will be lovely without the blooms.

The 15 bulbs provided filled out a 6 inch pot very nicely.

Comments about American Meadows Oxalis Deppei Flower Bulbs - Bag of 15:

After I planted the bulbs I worried that the oxalis would look too "weedy." After all, I have to contend with the more ordinary varieties that keep popping up in the middle of the flower bed. However, the salmon pink blossoms and the dark foliage are both really quite beautiful. I planted in May, they sprouted quickly and started blooming in June and they are still going strong.
