The Real Dutch Princesses. Ever since gaining independence from the Spanish and French, the Netherlands (Holland) has been ruled by 'The House of Orange,' descendants of some of Europe's oldest royal families. Today, Queen Beatrix, a very popular monarch, is well-remembered as a beautiful young girl, and the whole world watched in 1966 as she and her handsome 'prince charming,', Claus, were married in a truly fairy-tale wedding celebration. Beatrix has two sisters, and two of the tulips in this mixture are named for them: Princess Irene and Princess Margriet.
The latest generation is honored as well, since today, Queen Beatrix, who had three sons and no daughters, has three granddaughter Princesses, the children of her oldest son, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and his beautiful wife, Princess Maxima. Their three daughters are Princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane.'
