Horizon has bright red flowers with a strong white edge and resemble a peony. Grows to 18" tall.

Double Late Tulips are one of the most spectacular Tulips available. The flowers have so many petals that their more common name is Peony Tulips. Double Late Tulips bloom in the late spring season and are very long lasting; they even often bloom well into early summer.

As a fan of economic history, I selected these bulbs because they look very much like the Semper Augustus tulip bulbs that sparked the first economic bubble in Amsterdam circa 1637. The mechanism of the colors was not understood, and these bulbs would become part of investment vehicles that would results in people buying a fraction of a bulb as an investment. The market collapsed when an auction resulted in no bids, primarily due to the plague interrupting the bidders from attending. It took 100 years for the local economy to recover, and this bulb grows as reminder of how motivating beauty can be.

Ours flowered for at least two weeks, and are exactly what we expected at a great price.
