Description

This lily-flowered beauty is a classic. Its the lily-flowered tulip with deep color, while most others are pastels. The white edging is even and wide, but best of all, the rich red/purple makes this bloom a head-turner.

These unique tulips bloom late, at the end of the tulip season. They're tall, compared to most, with thin, but large blooms as you can see in the photos. But when they bloom, that's only the beginning. Whether you leave them in the garden, or cut them for a spectacular arrangement, the show goes on for days, sometimes weeks. The blooms lengthen, then begin to open wide. After a few days, they are almost flat, like a huge pointed-petaled poppy. It's a fabulous finale for the tulip season, and without lily-flowered tulips, you'll miss it all.

I loved the pictures, so I just had buy some. I kept in mind that what was in a catalog did not always translate well to my garden environment. I love the plants as much as I love the pictures. The second year they bloomed as true to the pictures as they did the first year. What a wonderful bulb.
