Easy-to-grow Balloon Flowers were one of grandmothers favorites. The Platycodons have been around forever, and some of their biggest fans are children. They love to watch the balloons form (the buds) and then swell each day until suddenly, one special day, the pop open. These beautiful old-fashioned flowers are lovely in the garden and fine in the vase.

Florida summer proved too much.

Gift for my Dad. Plants started out great, but the way too hot summer in Florida proved too much. Not the product, just mother nature.

        I planted these and the blue variety at the same time. The white emerged faster and flowered earlier and longer than the blue variety. I also ordered 6 and all 6 not only grew quite well for their first year, but produced numerous flowers. I planted mine in a mulched, full sun bed. It is a taller variety than other balloon flowers I own and after a little while the stems would fall (think Anabelle hydrangea) which makes it great for mixing with denser plants that are around 6-10" tall.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
