Description
This is the famous plains native called Purple Coneflower, but better known today by its botanical name: Echinacea.

For years before it was a favorite of the herbal medicine industry, it was always one of the loveliest wildflowers on the plains.

This large pink-to-purple daisy is a mainstay of all well-grown wildflower meadows, and is also a major colormaker in perennial borders. Magnus, this hybrid, is a bit shorter than the native plant, and the flower petals do not droop, as is often the case with the wildflowers.

You can easily grow this great native plant from our seed (See our Wildflower Seed Department) but to save a year or more, its really easy to plug in these plants.

Comments about American Meadows Echinacea purpurea Magnus - Plant:

Surprised that you would send out plants only two inches tall. None of the seedlings made it. I ended up buying Magnus from a local nursery. The plant itself is great - but your seedlings were not!
