Beautiful Echinacea bring mid to late summer color

This is the famous plains native perennial called Purple Coneflower, but better known today by its botanical name: Echinacea. It's long lasting flowers attract birds, butterflies and bees. Echinacea is easy to grow and makes excellent cut flowers.

For years before it was a favorite of the herbal medicine industry, it was always one of the loveliest wildflowers on the plains.
