Hosta

The cornerstone for any shade perennial garden.

Your Success GuaranteedGardeners can't have too many hostas. Lining walks, edging gardens, and creating dramatic accents here and there, these "Plantain Lilies" are a perennial landscaper's dream.

Hostas come in various designs, heights and sizes, but all form the neat, circular clump they're famous for. They all flower, too, but are really grown for their beautiful perennial plant foliage, which ranges from light green to deep bluish-green, which in the Hosta World, is called "blue." If you give them some shade and plenty of rich soil and water, they'll be a dependable, rich groundcover perennial. Once they're established, hostas are easy to divide so every perennial hosta you plant is a great investment in your garden's future
