Description
Of the famous whites, this one is a winner. With very wide falls (the lower petals) and highlights in butter yellow, the overall flower is a vision in glistening beauty. And since Immortality is a re-bloomer, these magnificent blooms appear twice a year!

Growing Bearded Irises These majestic flowers are surprisingly easy to grow, and actually require less attention than almost any other garden flowers. Your iris roots will arrive already growing in a small pot, with this spring’s growth beginning. When you plant, you'll find the root is not really a bulb, but what is called a rhizome--an irregularly shaped bulbous root that grows at a right angle from the foliage. Simply plant the iris as it is, with the top of it showing through the soil surface. Bearded irises grow best with the tops of their rhizomes exposed. Once planted, new foliage and the flower spikes will sprout strongly from the rhizome. What’s more, this summer, you'll notice the rhizome multiplying for even more flowers as years go by.

Comments about American Meadows Re-blooming Bearded Iris Immortality:

Irises are my favorite flowers. It is harder to get them to bloom in their first year of planting. Seeing as how I had to transplant this iris along with a few others and forgot to label them, they have not been placed in their more permanent location. Waiting for them to bloom is very time consuming as I will have to hope for next year to find out which one is the immortality to place it. I have lost one iris to a band of lilies and I hope it was not immortality as that would be ironic.
