Description
Siberian Irises are the ones that form elegant clumps of tall deep green sword-like leaves, with flowers on long stems that open above the foliage. With flowers somewhat smaller than the huge Bearded Iris, these are the ones that are the easiest to grow and surely the most hardy. Clumps return dependably each year with more and more flowers. Great landscape plants.

Comments about Siberian Iris Butter and Sugar:

Planted this in the spring on a fast draining fully exposed slope in clay soil and after getting it initially established only gave it a deep soak once a week. Interior valley NorCal temperatures regularly hit the 80's to upper 90's during the summer. I was amazed how the 3-4 grass-like blades quickly became a nice size 16 inch tall clump and flowered almost continuously until midsummer. The buttery yellow & white bloom combo is very elegant and is easy to integrate with almost any color. The foliage is a neat attractive green with upright blades. I only wish it didn't die back during the winter.
