How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Due to their attractive mounding foliage, Lungworts, or Pulmonaria, make gorgeous groundcovers and pathway plants, and are often grown particularly for this reason. The early to mid-spring flowers present arching sprays of delicate flowers, welcomed by gardeners and delighted bees. Grow them in moisture-retentive soil that is well-draining to prevent rot at the crown. Remove spent leaves early in the spring to allow a new flush of foliage to carry you through the summer. In very warm climates, the plant may experience dormancy in the late summer, but will emerge very early in the next spring season. Notable resistance to powdery mildew. Pulmonaria is rarely damaged by deer, and parts of it are toxic to dogs and cats if ingested.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"Took almost a week in transit so plants were not in great shape. It's been about 3 weeks since I planted them and they seem to be coming around. Looking forward to seeing mature plants"
"This is a different plant for shady spots. I did not get a lot of flowers this year, but I am sure I will in years to come. The foliage is just as nice to look at and unusual, which makes it a great addition to a shady area of the garden. It was just a very small plant when it came, but it grew to a nice size plant already this year. It's worth the splurge."
"I have purchased pulmonaria in the past and as it thrives in my garden I wanted more plants. The species matches mine exactly so I now have a more intense presence of lungwort; lovely in the spring and all summer long."
