I love the mallows. They bloom for a good long time, and wave their flower spikes above most other plants. (This one grows from 2 to 4 feet.) Zebrina is particularly beautiful, with big purplish-pink petunia-like flowers that go on and on.

Comments about American Meadows Mallow Zebrina:

Arrived in excellent condition, the packaging was amazing! Planted in Georgia red clay with minimum soil amendment. All thrived and bloomed within two weeks- planted mid June. Temps have been high 80's here with almost no rain at all, so I've been hand watering 2-3 times per week. This was a great purchase, flowers are exactly as shown on website, very attractive & unique looking on strong straight stems. I'm disappointed they'very sold out, I'd love to add more to my landscape!

Comments about American Meadows Mallow Zebrina:

First year it quickly died on me, but this second year it's growth was startling. I didn't even know what plant it was and then it was attacked by the local rabbit! Had to spread some Blood Meal to stop the ravaging.

I absolutely loved these plants. They bloomed profusely. But, unfortunately, they both died. I am so upset because I really loved these flowers.

I put these plants in outdoor vintage containers at about 2 AM before we were going out of the country for 3 weeks. We had a neighbor child do casual watering while we were gone. I was delighted to find them blooming and lush when we returned. That was 3 months ago and they've been steadily blooming since then! Absolutely gorgeous with a vivid violet color.

I am a little surprised that the little guys not only made it but are thriving and looking beautiful. The photos don't do the plant justice, the blooms are just so beautiful.

                            USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

                            • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
                            • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
