Description
This cultivar has perhaps the most elaborate plumes of bloom of all the Miscanthus hybrids. Tall, multl-branched torches in deep red open during summer and decorate the landscape for weeks.

About Miscanthus hybrids: Our friend, Jack Scheper, the plant expert who runs Floridata.com, tell us that there are now hundreds of cultivars of this handsome grass. He says What they have in common are a clump forming habit (never forming turf), in which the leaves grow up then cascade out and down like a fountain; foliage that turns various shades of gold or bronze in autumn and holds up well throughout the winter; erect flowers that shine in the summer sun, then turn soft and fluffy in winter, and persist beautifully in dried arrangements; and a preference for sunny positions in the landscape.

    I was amazed as to how quickly they grew! I believed we received them in May, and planted them a day or two later. They were only about 9 inches tall at that time. Now, at the end of September, they are over 5 feet tall!! Beautiful, too! Thanks, American Meadows. Jane
