This beautiful Sedum gives you spectacular leaves--a chartreuse color with bluish green edges, plus late summer bloom just as stunning---creamy buds open to a beautiful light pink. A great late season plant!

About the Sedums: These perennial plants enjoy gritty, fast-draining soil, and must have full hot sun. They're really desert plants, so give them sharp drainage. (Sedums are often called Succulents, due to their thickened moisture-retentive leaves, and yes, the short ones include the famous Hen and Chicks from grandmothers garden.)

Once Sedums are established, you've assured yourself of loads of perennial interest for the later months when most garden flowers are gone.

Comments about American Meadows Sedum Autumn Delight:

Very hardy and reliable grower. Plant arrived in good condition. Was a little disappointed that the variegation on the foliage didn't appear white but a light green instead but am hoping that will develop as the plant matures and with more sun exposure. The site where I wanted to put it was still a work in progress so I kept it in a pot in semi-shade. Was pleased it still bloomed in the pot and is growing well. Overall am happy with it and impressed with its hardiness.

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
