Description

About the Sedums: These perennial plants enjoy gritty, fast-draining soil, and must have full hot sun. They're really desert plants, so give them sharp drainage. (Sedums are often called Succulents, due to their thickened moisture-retentive leaves.)

Once Sedums are established, you've assured yourself of loads of perennial interest for the later months when most garden flowers are gone.

Comments about American Meadows Sedum Neon:

I will second the other review that stated the growth is a bit sluggish on this one (the Autumn Joy Sedum I planted at the same time grew twice as fast). If you're looking to quickly fill in a spot, there are probably other perennials that will suit your needs better. However, the one that I ordered was healthy when it arrived and grew steadily, producing flower buds (looked like broccoli florets) very soon. Then those buds didn't really do anything until the very end of the season. I wonder, now, if trimming the flower off the first year might help it to grow bigger faster? It seemed to be putting an awful lot of energy into that flower for a long time before it bloomed.

It's winter now. This year's growth is gone, but there are green shoots at the base of the plant, so I'm confident that it will make it through the winter and I'm excited to see what it does as it matures.

I planted this in my front flower bed and it is absolutely beautiful and so easy to maintain. I put in a large group of this and am planning on doing more in the back beds.

Comments about American Meadows Sedum Neon:

I ordered several (maybe 20) of these plants to fill in with more established sedum plants. I planted in the early spring and they barely grew at all. I would have thought by now they would be medium in size. I have to say that I am disappointed. I hope they make it through the winter.

Comments about American Meadows Sedum Neon:

Sedum is a great plant for rock gardens and sunny dry places where other plants don't like. Good color.
