Sedums are "succulents," which means they have thick leaves that store moisture, which tells you they do well in full sun and arid, rocky soil. Best of all, they are available now in a host of colors, from the taller ones, like "Autumn Joy" to the tiny closely-related ground covers called "Hens and Chicks" that you probably remember from your grandmother's garden.
