Description
Here's the new Siberian Iris that puts all the others to shame. Roanoke's Choice is a whole new look in color and form.

The basic color scheme is pastel lilac with yellow flashes near the center, and purple flares extending into the petals. The flowers are large, and freely-blooming. This is a great new plant that combines the easy-grow and heavy blooming qualities of the Siberians with the intricate beauty of other irises.

Siberian Irises are the ones that form an elegant clump of tall deep green grass-like leaves, with flowers on long stems that open above the foliage. With flowers somewhat smaller than the huge Bearded Iris, these are the ones that are the easiest to grow and surely the most hardy. Clumps return dependably each year with more and more flowers. Great landscape plants.

Comments about American Meadows Siberian Iris Roanoke's Choice - Root:

I ordered several Siberian Iris and they never really grew to any height and did not produce a single bloom. I did plant them out in my woods, but there is ample sunshine in the area that I chose. Disappointed with the results. Do not know why no flowers for in the same area I grow the giant hibiscus, white and red, daffodils, glads, 4 o'clock flowers, dogwood trees, canna lillies, etc. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but don't know what.

Comments about American Meadows Siberian Iris Roanoke's Choice - Root:

This is the first time I've planted this product. American Meadows was very helpful in suggesting the type of iris I could use in my partly shaded area. The bulbs arrived quickly in great shape with green shoots coming out of them. I planted them right away. The green shoots stayed green all summer. I fully expect decent blooms next spring. I'd buy more iris from them but given my lack of sun, I cannot. Looking forward to see how these bulbs do in the spring. Good company to purchase from.

Comments about American Meadows Siberian Iris Roanoke's Choice - Root:

Planted this on a hot fast draining slope in clay soil along with Butter & Sugar. Reached only 1/3 or less the size of the Butter & Sugar and only got 3-4 blossoms for a short time the whole year. Foliage is narrower and more grass-like than Butter & Sugar giving an airy more delicate appearance. Was rather disappointed and hope it will perform better after a year of growth.

these iris did sprout some from roots but did not live or thrive in good rich, improved sandy soil. One out of four plant roots lived. NOt very good hardy plants for south Ga.
