Plant Information

Apple Blossom’s light, star-shaped blooms create an elegant groundover in the spring garden. They prefer as much sun as possible and are deer resistant.

Creeping Phlox is a favorite for gardeners all across the country – they are ground-covering plants that bloom in a solid carpet in spring. Creeping Phlox also spreads rapidly, covering banks, spaces under tall trees, and other places where you want color. In one color, or as a rainbow, creeping phlox creates one of the most dependably perennial groundcovers you can plant.

Comments about American Meadows Creeping Phlox Apple Blossom:

I have ordered these plants more than once and each time they arrived either dead or nearly dead. I thought they were just dormant so I planted them and each time the same result - nothing. I tried this year getting them started in my greenhouse and then planting them in the garden but no luck. One plant arrived with so much of it dead that when I pruned it there was virtually nothing left. Very disappointing.

      Quickly died

Comments about American Meadows Creeping Phlox Apple Blossom:

Disappointed in this plant. I followed the planting instructions, and planted the day after I received it. Within a few days it has turned brown and shriveled up.

      USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

      • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
      • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
