Description
Burgundy Glow is a big favorite because of the great color it brings to shady spots--foliage is a collage of greens, pinks and creams. Flowers are deep blue.

All about Ajuga: Gardeners have a love or hate relationship with this easy to grow evergreen perennial. If you have moist shady areas you'd like covered with a colorful blooming carpet, you'll love it. If you let it spread into your lawn, you'll probably hate it, since once it gets there, its hard to eliminate it.

Also called Carpet Bugleweed, Ajuga is a small, spreading member of the mint family (you can always tell mints by their square stems) with foliage and flowers in lovely colors. Many are bi-colored and/or variegated, and make a stunning show in the garden. Its perfect for moist, shady areas contained by retaining walls or other hard edging.

Comments about American Meadows Ajuga Burgundy Glow - 3" Pot:

The Ajuda are a beautiful and hardy ground cover. They arrived in very good condition and were easy to get into the ground. They took right away and a year later they are growning strong and spreading as I want them to. The only issue is bug nibbling on the leaves. I am working on remedying that. That is the only con. They have a beautiful blue flowers for the spring and early summer and the are a nice green and burgundy ground cover

Comments about American Meadows Ajuga Burgundy Glow - 3" Pot:

Planted this along the walkway that runs along the front of the house at the top of a sharp slope with northern exposure. After 6 months it had filled in most of the area(2'x20')and now it's at the point where I'm considering transplanting some of it to keep it within bounds. This winter the lows have regularly hit 28 degrees resulting in the majority of the foliage turning an even more vivid pink. The pink foliage brightened up the winter but it is even prettier now that the primroses are growing through and flowering. It gets part sun to full sun during the summer (85-100+)and the soil would dry out between waterings. It tolerated the dry periods well even with the heat but really thrived with regular or continuous moisture. Am extremely pleased with it's contribution to the winter garden.

Comments about American Meadows Ajuga Burgundy Glow - 3" Pot:

Planted this along the front of a perennial bed, pretty much full sun. Get lots of comments about how pretty and what is it. The colored leaves are great, better than the bloom which is nice. Doesn't seem to be bothered by deer or pests. Spread is better the second year. Going to plant more. Has done well even in snow.
