Ligularia “The Rocket” is a great plant for moist, shady gardens. It grows up to 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide so make sure you give this plant plenty of room to grow. In the middle of summer it sends up huge bright yellow flower spikes that are fragrant. It is best grown in loamy or clay soil that is constantly moist or wet. A hummingbird favorite.

Comments about Ligularia The Rocket:

I planted the three bareroots at the same time in different areas of mostly shady gardens. One started out strong-got to about 8 inches tall with about 3 leaves then something ate it to the ground. I don't get deer here-my only guess is either slugs or a rabbit. One didn't even break ground. The third is doing well-did not flower this year, hopefully it will return next year and be stronger and get some flowers on it.
