Plant Information

Saucy Seduction’s long-lasting, deep pink blooms are sweetly fragrant, making this Yarrow a stand-out in the summer garden.

About the Yarrows. The Achillea tribe are plants of dry, gritty areas, and do not like soil that is too moist or rich. Give yours plenty of drainage.

The fore-runners of these beautiful hybrids have one of the richest histories in the plant world. Long thought of as a magical plant, Yarrows history goes back to Roman times, when it was thought useful in healing warrior wounds. The name Achillea is from Achilles, and the fateful wound of his heel. But it doesn't stop there. Witchcraft and all sorts of magical potions are associated with this plant.

The basic wildflower, Achillea millefolium, has a grayish-white bloom with deep green ferny foliage.

Comments about American Meadows Yarrow Saucy Seduction:

Flower heads have pretty varied pink color, but are heavy and often tend to fall over. It grew to impressive size in first season, so am looking forward to future seasons. It is in my Garden of Hope (all pink flowers) in honor of breast cancer.

Pros

  • Nice color

Cons

  • A little too short

Best Uses

Comments about American Meadows Yarrow Saucy Seduction:

I have several pink-hued yarrows and this one is my absolute favorite - intense and bright magenta. I wouldn't mind it being a little taller, though, it's short compared to my other yarrows. Foliage is nice and it produces very well.

    USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

    • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
    • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
