Asclepias curassavica is an excellent food source for Monarch butterfly caterpillars and a nectar source for adult butterflies. Known as Tropical Milkweed, this colorful plant is often grown as an annual flower in northern locations, and performs beautifully in a pot. A go-to variety for those who raise monarch butterflies at home to release into the wild.
