ORGANIC: "Marketmore 76" is the outstanding slicing cucumber. Famous variety is high yielding, with 8-9" fruits.

Zones 1 - 10
Mature Plant Size 12" tall

Plant Information

"Marketmore 76" is easy to grow and high yielding! 8-9” dark green fruits remain green and crisp even under heat stress. Multiple disease resistances make it a vigorous producer all season long.

When and Where to Plant: Tender Annual. Direct sow seeds after danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Transplants are recommended and can be started 4-6 weeks before planting date. Optimal soil temp for germination is 75-85°F. Seed will not germinate in soils below 50°F. Plant outside one week after frost date to ensure soil is warm enough. Plastic mulch and row cover allow for earlier planting dates. Pick cukes daily. Plants will slow production if over grown fruits persist on vines.

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
