Description
This is the most popular type of basil--one of the most popular herbs in the world, and no wonder. The delicious scent, and delightful taste makes this one a must-have in any herb garden. It grows rapidly from seed, and once you harvest a stem, another appears in its place. Imagine making your own fresh pesto, basil and tomato "caprese" salads, plus all the other favorites that call for basil.

These seeds are the preferred culinary type, super-easy to grow.

When and Where to Plant: Select a sunny location and sow seed as soon as ground can be worked. For earlier crop start indoors. Makes attractive pot plant. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food. Firm soil over seed.
Care: Keep soil moist and clean.
Harvesting: Cut stem just before flowers open, strip leaves and use fresh, or dry on tray in dark, airy place. Leaves may be frozen.

    I love that I can purchase such high quality seeds in bulk! It's very economical. I had so much seed that I filled several jars and gave them away in house warming baskets this year. It was nice to know that when the new home owners plant there herb gardens they will be able to enjoy your products as well. I also include my favorite recipes for pesto and capresse salad!
