"Lutz Greenleaf" Beets are known for decorative foliage,
which makes them great for planting in pots and flower gardens. Young tops make great salads, too; just cut as you need greens. Then harvest roots in fall.
When and Where to Plant: Select a sunny, well drained location and sow seed as soon as the ground can be worked. Repeat at 3 week intervals
until late summer. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize
with vegetable food and smooth with rake. Great in containers and
sunny flower beds. Firm soil over seed and keep moist.
Care: Keep soil moist, weed free, and apply vegetable food every 4
Harvesting: Pull individual plants when roots are about 2"/5 cm. across.
