With a name like "Mammoth Melting Sugar Snow Peas," no wonder this one's been a big favorite for years. Because it lives up to its name. Tall vines grow to 5-7' and bear 4-5" pods. Best eaten before peas begin to form. Peas come on in mid-summer.
When and Where to Plant: Hardy Annual. Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked. Soil temperatures between 50-70°F are optimal for germination. A trellis is needed for support and ease of harvest. Plant a double row with rows 6-8” apart and trellis in the middle. Harvest continuously for increased yields.
