I planted this mix in a large area in my backyard last May and due to an unfortunate miscommunication with our landscaping company, EVERYTHING got pulled up. After I got done cussing out the landscapers, I started over in July, watering diligently, and got a few things to bloom before frost. I also threw a bunch of the seed on top of a mulched area in November "just to see what would happen." This year it's taken off like crazy. I'm seeing a lot of Siberian wallflower, forget-me-nots and dame's rocket, as well as the baby blue eyes and five spot in the shadier areas. This seed mix doesn't really grow in full shade, but if you want to plant it in full shade, it will do better when planted in the fall, along with perhaps some wild tulips or wild crocus (that way the flowers get a little head start before the trees leaf out and shade everything to death).

I used this mix as a border around a shed and another separate wildflower garden near the forest edge (shadier). I used Roundup to kill the weeds and grass before planting. Germination rate was pretty good even during a dry spring. The growth in the shadier areas was stunted but I am still satisfied with the result. My only complaint would be the presence of mile-a-minute vine seed in the seed mix. Not a big problem though since they are easily pull out.

I needed something along a 60' wall, about 6' deep to prevent weed growth. These wildflowers filled up the area and when winter came, they stayed and began growing again in the spring. A few bloomed, but it was late in the season. I'll see what happens this year.

We use this mix in our large wildflower garden in the shady areas and also in our shady raised beds. This is a WONDERFUL mix with a huge variety of seeds. We just love it and order it every year! This is one of our favorite mixes!

These flowers have grown along a country roadside in some of the worst possible soil imaginable. Some have bloomed and we can still see echinacea, sunflowers, black eyed susan soon to bloom. Varieties which we cannot find listed in the wildflower books

I live in hot Arizona and planted this early spring in an area that gets some shade but still a lot of sun. I also planted other seed mixes in different areas of my yard. This one came up like gang-busters (whereas the others have not). This mix has produced tons of flowers, especially baby's breath, and baby snapdragons in all sorts of colors. Every day there seems to be something new - poppies, coreopsis...

My only problem is that the African stinkbugs have invaded, eating all of the sweet alyssum, so I am pulling that all out.

Seed appeared to be of very high quality with no filler. It was sown in early June on thoroughly prepared soil in partial sun that we want to establish as a wildflower meadow. As of the end of August we haven't had any germination.

I agree with my nearby Newton,NJ reviewer.Planted total of three pounds-pound on three separate occasions. Fall planting-no growth. Spring planting-minimal response. Third attempt in progress. Possible variables:too little sun; winter storm soil erosion;resemblance to weeds; poor soil quality. Planted as ground cover between hostas and hydrangeas,which was a mistake-looked terrible. Current attempt is in isolated area where only PS seed is planted. Some minor progress-being patient.

I followed the instructions for fall planting - basically "scatter and stomp" - very easy - and they seem to be vigorously growing in a problem, shady, somewhat amended clay soil. YAAAAAAY!![...]

I spread the seeds in a long partially shaded piece of the property, previously covered in weeds. turned over the soil, threw the seeds and watered... 2nd year is looking better than the first!

I really loved how the shade mix turned out- it really helped bring some color and interest to a shady side of our house. My only frustration is it's hard to tell what's a weed and what's a wildflower so as long as you don't mind things getting a little wild, you'll love this product!

I live in the city and have a small backyard garden that gets about 3-4 hours of sun/day. This wildflower mix has offered many wonderful surprises. I don't know all the names of what's popped up in the second season, but I followed he directions and the flower are gorgeous and able to survive the hardiest conditions. I even used them in planters on my deck and the flowers have come back again this second year.

These seeds are bountiful and come up beautiful. We use them along two sides of our fenced back yard, the flowers brighten up the yard and attract such beautiful butterflies and hummingbirds. We get many compliments on the flowers and look forward to summer each year for many reasons but one main reason is getting to enjoy these flowers!!!

Very low production in first year. Seems to have kicked into at least low gear this spring. But the shady mixture may have needed a little more light. Recommending only because it is at least doing something in the shade.

My forest meadow doesn't get enough direct sun so I didn't get a variety -- one or two actually grew and survived.

Unfortunately product did not work as desired - could have been something I did but I used the dry mix at the same time and method and had super results.

This mix I ordered for the front of my house facing East, with no building blocking the south side, but 3 large trees which contribute to the morning sun through noon in spring, in summer only through 10:30-11 am. I planted this mix in March 2009 just after the last frost. By June I had a beautiful front yard with lots of wildflowers to cut for bouquets (see picture). After Mid-July, weeds started taking over even though I weeded a lot. By the end of August I had given up trying to keep the weeds at bay, so there were 50% weeds/ wildflowers. Because the mix is self sowing I'm very excited to see how it will perform this second season. I am a beginner gardener, maybe this would have not happened to a master gardener. Overall it's a beautiful wildflower mix that does perform beautiful in spring early summer here in the Chicago area.
