I bought this mix in the fall to fill in a partially sunny gentle slope, after I removed endless English ivy, poison ivy and weeds. The soil is clay and quite rocky, and I didn't do any amending. I did rake and try to scratch up the top inch of ground, though. Now it is April 2, and the seeds have definitely started coming up. I already have a few flowers- delicate small white, pink and fuschia blooms (not sure what they are yet). Other plants are still short and foliage only. My main problem seems to be crowding in some areas, and no coverage in other areas. This may be due to rains, wind, or the weirdness of our DC winter. So I have begun transplanting some of the seedlings into less crowded spots. So far so good- they are still alive (I did amend these new areas with compost to help things along). I may write another review in a few months once I see how things turn out. But overall, I'm happy. One improvement I would like to see to the website is hyperlinks for each flower mentioned in the mix, so I can easily click on the name and see an image. Right now I've had to put each name into a separate browser window, and it's a pain for a mix with this much variety.

This seed mix was very reliable and worth the money. I am already seeing sprouts after a week. I also bought seed mixes from different companies who ripped me off with having 95% other material and 5% seed. American Meadows sent 100% seed and I was greatful for that! Will always buy from here!

I usually seed my wildflower gardens in the spring, but decided to give fall planting a shot. Due to the very unusual heat in March, the plants have already begun to emerge. I would normally be happy to see this much growth, but am concerned about a freeze wiping them out. But, if the number of sprouts are any indication, this blend will be very prolific.

I sowed the seeds during the winter instead of early spring. Seeds were sown on a bank. The lack of flowers may have been from the rain during the balance of the winter. The prior year I planted this same mix on the other half of this same bank early spring. I got a very good bloom rate which is why I purchased the mix again. I plan to purchase more of this mix and plant them on another hillside. Will sow them in early spring instead of during the winter.

we bought this mix and divided it into our own small packets for wedding favors. We added instructions and our own verse and handed them out at our small wedding. We planted them in a small area with an old head and footboard so that it looks like a bed. We will remember it always as our wedding wildflower bed! They are coming up beatifully already, as we just planted the seeds in the fall a few months ago.

Every type of seed I've ordered from American Meadows has had wonderful germination rate! We planted baby's breath and Shasta daisies last year and was amazed at the proliferation and hardiness of the plants. Even transplanted the daisies and they will flower for a wedding this summer! I've been very pleased with the quality of the products!

I was a little disappointed so far with the mix. Not many larder flowers mostly more clover like varieties. Hopefully I will be better satisfied by fall.

I was worried when mice got into my bag of seed before I could sow it. But since this spring we have had a constant show of yellow, white, mixed colors and now yellows and reds. Not sure what seeds the mice ate, but we didn't seem to miss them. We put the flowers out in the area over our septic field and they have done great. This is the second home where we have created an American Meadows wildflower area and both times they came out beautifully. In fact, they helped sell the previous house. My wife has fresh cut flowers in our home from spring to fall.

Much success with the phlox, daisies, sweet william, cosmos...despite stiff competition from encroaching meadow grasses. (Not all seed varieties did as well, but those that grew and blossomed certainly catch the eye and draw lots of compliments.)

I used this seed mix to create a 6' x 300' border between part of our yard that is cut and maintained and the edge of a field we leave fallow. I cut a 6' clearing between the border and fallow field to control grass and weed intrusion.

I prepared the bed and planted the seeds last fall. They are blooming in mass. My wife cuts many of the flowers and puts them in containers in the house. I can only name a few of the flowers so far. Each week brings a new surprise of various blooms.

A great mix that I would highly recommend. I haven't touched the bed since preparation and seeding, except for some minor weeding (poison ivy).

Using wildflowers to reduce the area we need to mow. With high gas prices wildflowers make a lot of sense. Enjoy the flowers that bloom all summer and into the fall.

We live on a 1/2 acre and on a busy neighborhood road, so we needed a cheap fence. We decided on a wildflower border. We tilled in the fall (mid-November) and scattered our seed the same day. We did a 5 by 200 patch along the road. We did give a 2 foot space between the wildflower patch and the road (for salt damagae in winter). Late April the patch began to sprout with wildflowers, and by early May we saw Baby Blue Eyes first. Now, our wildflower border is thick and has 5 different blooms by mid-May! It even keeps our kids away from the road, and they are learning each new flower. We love it! We plan to convert more of our 1/2 acre yard into meadows in the coming future.

For the last several years We've purchased a pound or more of this seed, It will not grow! We were told to try the shade mix (at our own expense) but that failed to grow too. this year we're trying again after adding lots of topsoil (they don't grow in any soil as advertised) but don't expect anything. American Meadows has never replaced ANY seed that has failed to grow for us, They only tell us to buy something different.

The flowers from the fall maxium are starting to bloom. Babys breath, bachelor buttons,poppy and etc. are beuatiful now. The month May they all will be blooming...what a beautiful site this will be. Can't wait!

I planted a wildflower meadow over the leech field at our new house. It was absolutely beautiful with all the bright colors, reds, blues, purples, yellows, oranges, etc. The bachelor's buttons blooms are beautiful and so many different colors.

These flowers grew and bloomed quickly. Some in the mix have been the first to bloom here this season. I'll buy more of this seed when available again.
