I live on an impaired lake and asked for help planting a buffer zone(shoreline restoration) from Mike at customer service. He set me up with the appropriate mixes both annual and perennial's.The results were amazing the first year. The Mn. pollution agency came out after I had written an article on my succes and added photos, and they did an interview and video for there agency website. I could not be more pleased and am excited for spring to see it grow again.

I started my fourth wildflower garden this year. I prepared it in fall of 2010. I added California Poppy and Cosmos mix to it. It was wonderful this year! The only drawback was too many sunflowers came up we tore out about 1/3 of them, but the bed was overwhelmed by sunflowers. I would suggest less sunflower seeds in the mix. Overall, I was once again satisfied.

Comments about American Meadows Midwest Wildflower Seed Mix:

I ordered the Midwest Wildflower mix to cover a large area...over 1200 sqft. I planted about 2.5 weeks ago. I followed the video prep instructions which were very helpful. I also called with some questions and the cust service folks were equaly helpful. My planning area just a few years ago with overrun with buckthorn. I cleared most of the area and prepped with tiller for the wildflower seed. The area gets full sun in the morning and mixed sun/shade in PM. As you can see from the pictures the planning is coming along nicely. The large leafy things coming up are weeds I need to pull but the green cover you see is largely the wildflower seed coming up. Very pleased so far.

    One More Try

Comments about American Meadows Midwest Wildflower Seed Mix:

Three springs ago I planted these behind our split rail fence. The look was beautiful. The next spring I added more seeds but we had no luck. Nothing came up. I blame it on the drought that summer. Then last spring we were planning a wedding reception in our backyard & I wanted that original look so I planted $60 worth of wildflower seeds including poppies. It looked like we had about 3 in. growth when the landscape company we hired (this one time) came and sprayed broadleaf killer on my plants! Only 2 varieties survived. Now I am starting over and spending more in hopes it will work this time. I have no idea if they will come up the second year as we did not have a successful second year after the first summer but I'm hoping it was because of the drought.

Comments about American Meadows Midwest Wildflower Seed Mix:

I used the mix for a low-maintenance wildflower border for part of my backyard. I was impressed by how successful this seed mix was. I got very dense growth and a good diversity of flowers from the mix. Some from the list didn't seem to appear, but I am looking forward to seeing what comes up next year.

Comments about American Meadows Midwest Wildflower Seed Mix:

We had a wet, cold spring followed by a summer drought. The seeds came up later than usual (and I'm sure some washed away) because of the rainy weather. They soon were going strong, and I have a beautiful color display of pinks, yellows, oranges and purples - some as much as 6 ft tall. In fact, one of my birdfeeders is nearly invisible in the blooms.

We used the midwest wildflower mix to put a perimeter around our 3 acre lot. Seeded May 1 and had blooms starting about July 1. It is now Oct 19 and the cosmos, bachelor button, red flax, and coreopsis are still blooming. And as we drive through the neighborhood, we have the ONLY flowers still blooming. Wonderful seed mix, and I think every seed grew. Can't wait until next year when the perennials start to bloom. Not only would I recommend this to a friend, I have recommended it to ALL my friends.

We used this product to fill in an area that was previously wild, with weeds and grass. We tilled and raked the area hoping the wild flowers would take over. They didn't come in thick enough or evenly enough. Maybe next spring they will. We do love they incredible mix of colors and variety of the flowers. It would be nice to have received a brochure with pictured to help identify each plant as they grow.

I was looking forward to having a wonderful butterfly garden, but was a little disappointed they didn't grow, but we have had a really wet spring & a very dry summer. When contacted by American Meadows, they are replacing all my seeds! I am looking forward to trying again & love their customer service!!! I will definitely recommend them to everyone!!!!

Comments about American Meadows Midwest Wildflower Seed Mix:

We planted about a quarter acre in this mix in preparation for our daughter's wedding to take place July 2014. The meadow was absolutely breath-taking and more than I had imagined for the first year. I followed the advice of the customer service person I talked with. I hope it is that beautiful next summer for the wedding!!

Comments about American Meadows Midwest Wildflower Seed Mix:

I purchased this product to use on part of our yard that is rocky and hard to mow but does grow grass. We had immediate growth and the flowers have been spectacular. They are not only pretty but the bees loved them as did my children. The product did just what we needed for the space--grew something pretty and kept me from mowing rocky soil.

Used in smaller backyard area to attract birds/ Hummingbirds and butterflies. Very tall growth and did not stay in border area. Better suited for large open areas. Also rabbits loved hiding in tall growth came out to much our veggies! Some color and good variety but not a lot of bright flowers and color with flowers this first season.

The stems are a lovely shade of green, about 3 feet tall but hardly any flowers. The seeds were planted in April. Today is October 2nd. I am very disappointed with this mixture.

We moved to the country this past winter and were eager come spring to plant a wildflower garden on some of our property where it could be seen as drivers came over a hill. We were amazed at the show of color from mid spring through fall! As the seasons progressed we were blessed with a subtle change in the color palette as new flowers came into bloom. We were afraid with late planting we might not have a good showing the first year but were pleasantly surprised. The flowers withstood periods of drought and hot midwest summers in the 90's. This garden required very little maintenance. We are so pleased, we are expanding it with a fall planting of perennial/annual mix and will add some additional annuals to the original garden. As you can tell, we were very pleased with our order!

i was using the wild mix for the first time in an open field with little dirt and lots of rock the blooms came up in 2 weeks of planting the color was great and is still bloomimg into october. As my field has clover,Puff I needed more height in the mixture. Overall I was very satisfied with the first year hopefully next year will be better

All of the mix was tall and leggy-no varied lengths. I planted in the fall and sure enough they bloomed early spring but were burnt out by mid summer.

We live on a two acre plot and would like to reduce the area that we mow. Wildflowers are the way to go.

We always loved wild flowers but could not find any that preformed well. We tried these and have had the best results. Will be recommending these to friends and family.
