Although these grew very fast the cosmos seemed to take over everything, like they go too tall too fast to let anything else grow. So really all we go was cosmos with a couple of sunflowers. The cosmos were absolutely beautiful though, so it wasn't a total loss!!

Bought this mix for a problem slope along my driveway. The various species have been blooming since June. I'm still getting flowers as of October 10, after 2 light frosts. Looking forward to what next spring brings!

I used this product to add some color to a barren dirt area in my backyard. Some of the mix grew and bloomed almost immediately; others have yet to appear. But it did the trick and the flowers that did grow made the area much more attractive.

I seeded a 15 x 8 bed between a sidewalk and a garage wall. Some of the flowers (the cosmos) grew so tall that they provided excellent eye-diversion away from the ugly garage concrete block wall. The mix provided a continually changing array of flowers, with new types coming into bloom as others faded and went to seed.

My landscaping friend excavated our 1 acre corner and buried seeds 1-2 inches underground-weeds beat the flowers to the surface. AM was kind enough to replace the seeds at no cost,even though it was clearly our fault. Re-seeded and flowers are popping up like crazy. Thank you AM for your integrity.

I'm just starting to get blooms, so it's too soon to say how colorful the garden will be, but it couldn't have been simpler. I just scattered seeds last fall and everywhere I scattered them plants are now growing and many buds are about to open. I can't wait to see how it looks in another few weeks.

Planted a large field which was on a gravel fault in northern Maine. I killed most of the existing vegetation, brought in some fill and seeded 5 lbs in the fall. By mid July the color and variety of flowers was spectacular. I also used the deer resistant mix close to the woods. Due to lack of rain the mix
turned to primarily black eyed susans by late summer. Still and all the field was a show stopper for a first time effort.
I found myself constantly gazing at it and expanded the growing area for summer 2011. Can't wait to experience the fruits of my labor. American Meadows directions were basic and not too difficult to carry out. Had I read more extensively, I might never have attempted such a large area.

My husband and I planted seeds from the Northeast collection over ten years ago, turning our backyard behind our swimming pool area into a meadow. My husband mows it after the first killing frost and every other year we add a few more seeds and pull out invasive weeds. Each year has been lovely and very enjoyable for us and our neighbors. The progression of flowers blooming from spring into fall is very gratifying. When our granddaughter visits she loves to make bouquets. It sure beats mowing and is better for the environment. Thanks

I had a small area in the sun for wildflowers. All I got was 98% cosmos that did not bloom and a few orange flowers. I will try next year with a different mix.

I wish that I had seen the low growing wild flower mix, my space is smaller and on a grade, the tall flowers fell over and didn't look as nice or allow the smaller plants to do well

I started a 2000 sq ft. wildflower meadow and needed a bit more seed- so I ordered another 1/4 lb to fill in the holes. I started by roto tilling a hill where grass wouldn't grow very well. I followed all of the directions on how to roto till and plant the meadow. I soon found that I needed to water it a lot, which was difficult being such a large area. Once I saw seedlings appear, I also noticed MANY crab grass seedlings and other grasses coming up- soon, there was more grass than flowers. The annuals bloomed but not that many, and the whole thing just looked like an unkept weedy mess. [...] I decided I did not want to add chemicals to that large a part of my yard so I ended up just mowing the whole area. It is now late summer and we'll see if any of it comes up next year. The whole experience was much more tedious than I had hoped. Maybe someone with more experience will have better luck!

After seeding water frequently to quickly establish grow. Once seedling are 4-5 inchs tall you can begin to water less, pretty much maintenance free. Quick answer to an empty plot, or disturbed area.

Planted wildflowers on an entire hillside in my backyard. First, I cut down trees, vines, bushes, etc and killed the grass by covering it with black plastic from local hardware store. Grass was dead in about a week or so then removed plastic. Then I raked the hillside to get rid of the dead grass. Next I added truck load of top soil and manure. I mixed the wildflower seeds with sand as instructed and just tossed it onto the hillside. I used 5 pounds...the hillside was very large...plus i wanted a good covering and saved about half pound for missed patches. I just walked over the seed as i threw it down to 'pack' it into the new soil. Then I added a sprinkler on a timer to cover the entire hillside to keep the seed moist. It took awhile to see results...the first year was very colorful with lots of annuals and it was hard to tell what was weeds vs flowers since the annuals don't bloom first year. Second year was UNREAL!!! BEAUTIFUL!! BETTER THAN EXPECTED. Used rest of seed second year to cover some bare spots but GOT TONS of compliments from neighbors and it LOOKED GREAT!!! SEE PICS!!!

We planted two small meadows on our farm in Pennsylvania in 2009. Now, in April 2010 (after a record-setting winter for cold and snowfall) the first blooms have appeared! The meadow is 'thicker' this year and we look forward to a different look in this second year of growth. The directions were understandable and easy to follow. I have some leftover seed and have a spot chosen already. I definitely recommend this wildflower blend!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this seed combination! It covers well and gets better with each passing year. Talk about a cheap, easy, way to get a great yard and get rid of yard pests all in one step! I've used it personally in several home settings and have given it as a gift more than once. It's always a hit!

We planted this mix on the grassy tree lawn between a sidewalk and street. It created a veritable jungle of wildflowers, spectacular dusky sunflowers and all self-maintaining. I guess next time I wouldn't plant it so close to a stop sign or corner, as the plants did get tall, but they also got alot of rave reviews from the neighbors...Thanks again!

The NE wildflower mix is wonderful. I have a natural meadow in my backyard and I have rototilled and then pressed in your seed over a 50 X 100 sq foot area. I have also added some extra lupine seeds into the wildflower mixture. The colors change throughout the summer and the pictures enclosed are early spring.
