Description
Actually a No. American native plant hailing from Mexico, the nasturtium has been a hybridizer's favorite for years. Kids love them since they're so easy to grow, and the giant-sized seeds are so easy to handle. Cooks enjoy them since the flowers are edible, and make wonderful decorations for cakes and pastries. All nasturtiums trail somewhat, but this is the more upright version, not the long-trailing one often used in baskets.

Comments about American Meadows Nasturtium Seeds Dwarf Jewel Mix - 1/4 LB:

I bought these seeds to fill a border. The seeds were easy to plant and, thus far, the seedlings are easy to maintain. However, out of the 200+ seeds that were in the bag, only about 50 have produced plants. As this is just a border, I am ok with it and can fill in with other plants if need be, but at only 25% - 30% of a return, this would not be a choice for someone who is depending on a fuller presentation.

Comments about American Meadows Nasturtium Seeds Dwarf Jewel Mix - 1/4 LB:

So easy and so rewarding! I just buried a handful of seeds here and there where I wanted color- in the front flower bed, along the side of the house, beside the driveway, under the magnolia tree- and then watered them regularly along with the rest of the plants.
The blooms are popping up everywhere! Nice bright orange, reds and yellows. The variegated ones are my favorite to look at but the dark orange are the tastiest. AND they make a nice spicy and colorful addition to boring old spinach salad. My only real complaint is that my husband keeps eating the flowers before I can get them on the table, but if that's the only downside, I'll take it!
