I used the seeds to make favors for my mother's 80th birthday party. I included a poem that talked about planting the seeds and thinking of her as they grew. Those that I planted did very well!
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
