Comments about American Meadows Golden Lupine Seeds:

I planted these on a steep, fenced hillside and on an unfenced flat area on our property. Surprise! Both plantings are growing well and the few small plants that the fawns ate are florishing, although diminished in size in response to deer saliva. So far, the deer have NOT come back for dinner and the fenced area is growing beatiful. I love yellow in a garden and this is the ticket for my California garden.

Comments about American Meadows Golden Lupine Seeds:

I thought I would try these this year along with my wildflower seed. I planted the wildflower garden in Jan. They sprouted and survived the cold winter. They are just not growing. I have good sandy soil, but I beleive they are for the pacific area. They may start doing something but I have my doubts.

        USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

        • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
        • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
