Description

This premium mixture is blended to take advantage of the wet coastal climate of this region, which is a natural garden for wildflowers. Many of the Pacific coast natives are included such as chinese houses, farewell-to-spring, and California poppy. Plant almost anytime along the coast; at higher elevations, after spring frost.

This mixture contains 28 wildflowers, 17 annuals for first-year color, plus 11 perennials or biennials for second and successive years' bloom.

I buy the pound of wildflowers every year now to plant where my beloved pets are laid to rest. It makes the area so pretty. Planting is so easy and they come up in abundance. The only necessary thing is to cover the area up with netting until they are growing so the birds don't think I'm feeding them. This photo was taken early in the season. By fall they are even more beautiful.

Beautiful despite not eliminating all old weed seeds before planting. This is year two and the mix is completely different. Enjoyed watching the color and variety come on all season. A skeptical neighbor is putting in a 'wildflower strip' along her side of her house as my field won her over.

Didn't like weeding out the stinging nettles or their prickly friends but loved watching my garden grow. I had limited sun in my meadow area and noticed the sunnier part was much more dense with flowers. I let my preschooler sprinkle the seeds and we all enjoyed cut flowers in the house through summer.
