Description
This wildflower is a close relative of the red salvia we all know as a common bedding plant—the very formal spike of fire engine red flowers on small upright plants. These meadow plants are less formal and more suited to growing in a natural wild garden. When in bloom, this one adds great meadow color.

Comments about American Meadows Scarlet Sage Seeds - 1/4 LB:

My first experience with Scarlet Sage occurred when it bloomed in a pot on my front porch and in a ditch that I converted into a flower garden along our street. I had no idea what it was. I just knew I liked it. Having spread American Meadows Hummingbird and Butterfly Mix in these areas, I used the web site to identify the plant, and I ordered ¼ pound to grow some more. Since this is a perennial flower and since this is the first growing season after spreading the seed, I do not expect to see it bloom during the summer of 2013. And, because I am only just now learning to appreciate and to use wildflowers in the garden, I will not recognize the plant via its foliage during summer 2013 unless last year's few from the Hummingbird and Butterfly mix bloom again to give me some help. Therefore, I cannot make a good assessment or contribute a meaningful review at this time. However, having read the review of a user who witnessed hummingbird attraction, I really do look forward to watching this flower do its "work" when it blooms in 2014!

Comments about American Meadows Scarlet Sage Seeds - 1/4 LB:

I saw how the hummingbirds were attracted to this plant two years ago. Last year I planted it in all of my pots against the house and the patio doors. we had a Forrest of green and red with dozens of humming birds visiting. this plant is super easy, just water it. it grows very well and no trouble. it is one of the last plants to die in the winter too long lasting i am buying double the amount this year .
