Upright, late-season blooms produce pollinator-friendly nectar

Salvia, aka Sage, are native wildflowers that produce showy, upright blooms on 1-2’ tall plants. Plant Salvia in full sun wherever you’d like to see butterflies, and choose the Scarlet variety to attract hummingbirds to its signature tubular flowers. While other Salvias are frequent choices for landscaping formal beds, these wild and natural cousins are exceptional in a meadow setting, or when planted among grasses. Blooms appear in the later-half of the season. Deer resistant.
