Comments about American Meadows Lance Leaf Coreopsis Seeds:

These seeds germinated quickly after raking the soil and hand spreading. I mixed them with black eyed susans and cosmos. The area was filled with continuous color all season long.

I planted in late summer, fall, then spring, and had minimal results. I am currently trying to coddle some seedlings in pots, but not having much success.

So many were produced in one area, that I will be transplanting. They need lots of sun, and the area with less sun, they are still small. Those I will transplant. They are excellent transplanters. They are stunning!!

Comments about American Meadows Lance Leaf Coreopsis Seeds:

We plant Lanceleaf Coreopsis in large clumps in northern Maine (Zone 5a). It grows well if kept weeded and watered the first year. It flowers the second year and then keeps returning year after year with yellow blooms. We can plant it in large clumps with seed which is really an inexpensive way to have a large bed for many years. Highly recommended for lawns, pasture, and flower beds - in full sun.

              USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

              • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
              • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
