Comments about American Meadows Painted Daisy Seeds:

I created a custom seed mix including two types of cosmos, zinnias, bachelor's buttons and painted daisies since all did well last year (the painted daisies were an experiment this year. I have never planted them before)in a 600 square foot cutting garden I plant with annuals every year.

The zinnias did so well that they out-competed all the other seeds so I only got a few cosmos up and blooming besides the zinnias. I never saw a single painted daisy. I think the zinnias didn't give them a chance so it may be that my conditions made for poor performance. I loved the look of these in the photos and would love to try them in their own spot in the future.

Comments about American Meadows Painted Daisy Seeds:

Lovely flowers, large bloom with different color variation. Very easy. I scattered the seeds last Fall and they came up in the Spring. I think they are supposedly fall blooming flowers. I suppose in our mild climate (10B), they can bloom in Spring. Certainly not complaining. I hope they bloom year round like Flanders Poppy, another one of my favorites from American Meadows.

We have a new home and ran out of topsoil in part of out yard. A wildflower garden is the perfect solution.

                USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

                • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
                • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
