I plant this ever spring and have blooms all summer, they die off then come back in the fall

I mass planted this in a pollinator meadow to provide some first year bloom while my slower to establish native perennials get going. It had good germination and was good at out-competing weedy turf grasses and buckhorn plantain. It doesn't appear weedy itself and is slowly declining in the meadow as I had hoped.

We had a large area that we wanted to sow to native plants. Our daughter was getting married in late summer and had chosen Cornflower Blue as her bridesmaids' dresses. We hosted a wedding reception on our farm, and the beautiful cornflowers were a fun accent to our other yard flowers. Following the reception, I mowed the patch, and they have regrown and are producing beautiful flowers! The only slight "con" I have, is that the stems get very leggy and are alittle hard to use in cut flower arrangements. However, this con is certainly not a big enough problem to deter me from recommending and using this seed and the company for future seed and plant selections.

I planted it in the fall and spring it was one of the first to bloom. Then die back and in the fall a lot of it came back to bloom again.

I sow these in our meadow, some areas with other wildflowers; but for large areas, they can also stand on their own. They bloom from mid spring through summer and are lovely. The blue is a true, deep cornflower blue. They are quite hardy and need no special care--they will bloom about anywhere you scatter the seed. Maintenance free!! They do well in all kinds of soil--we planted them in moist areas and also in dry areas. Check out the photos that follow. Also, if you are a person who loves to watch birds, plant these, your meadow will be filled with finches, wrens, bluebirds, and many others coming to feast on the plentiful seeds they produce. One other thing, they make beautiful dried bouquets that will last forever indoors. The color stays true even when dried. So many good things from such a simple, pretty flower.

I love the bachelor buttons. They bloom early and last for the entire season. I have other colors including purple, pink, and white.

I order these every year, and here in the Midwest they shine! easy, loads of color, just scatter them in with your perennials and watch them go! best in full sun.

Though these are supposedly some of the hardiest wildflowers around, I did have some trouble growing these from seed - and despite spreading thousands upon thousands of seeds in small areas. Where they did come up, they were lovely, though swamped with green - the flowers were too tiny to stand out and rather quickly died, leaving a dense green jungle of weeds.

I do have to say, thought, that American Meadows's customer service is unmatched in excellence!!!
